Silk
is one of the most beautiful stringing materials available today.
Our silk comes in 2-meter lengths (that’s about 6 ½
feet), with a steel needle woven into one end. The silk is made
of two strands twisted together to give you the prettiest looking
knots. Silk does need to be stretched overnight before you knot
a project so that it is ready to work with. Silk is as much as 10
times stronger than nylon of the same size, so you’ll always
have enormous strength in your piece. Irregular edges or rough bead
holes will wear away at silk cord and end up cutting through over
time, so it is important to make sure that all of your bead holes
are smooth and finished. If you think you need to smooth out any
bead holes, a diamond
bead reamer will be your ideal tool. Our silk comes in five
different sizes and fifteen different colors, perfect for all kinds
of projects. Pick the color that’s closest to your beads for
a classic look or pick a contrasting color for a more contemporary
design.
